One of a country's greatest assets is unity, peace, and tranquility. Unity is the backbone of any society if its political, economic, and social programs are to experience stability and steady growth. In other words, it is in a state of unity, peace, and tranquility that a nation can achieve prosperity in economic, political, and social domains. For Cameroon, the situation has been bleak, unbalanced, and, at this stage, very fragile. The political, economic, and social life of this country rests on a fragile wall. At this point, even the sovereign character of the Republic is under both natural and supernatural pressure for change, associated with recent terrorist attacks at our borders with the insurgency of the radical religious sect, Boko Haram, and the secessionist explosion in the two Anglophone regions, which has plunged the country into one of the greatest bloodbaths and human destructions of modern times.
This change must first and foremost concern the hearts and minds of Cameroonians toward the application of honest rules, such as transparency, honesty, accountability, love, and fear of God in how we treat our nation and its people. In this case, we believe that only God can help us formulate the right message of unity, peace, social dialogue, and above all, National Reconciliation, which is a fundamental instrument for taking this country to the next level of success. Cameroon must measure up to the world's great economies in terms of economic, social, technological, and infrastructural development.
With God's help, therefore, and the active participation of all stakeholders, we believe that establishing a National Reconciliation Commission will provide us with the right approach to nation-building. This idea will be propagated through radio and television consistently to emphasize the need for unity, peace, and the sovereign character of the Republic of Cameroon.
The commission will undertake three major tasks: The Anglophone Problem in Cameroon: Need for a National Dialogue on Cameroonian identity; Integration of political history into the way of life; Effective Decentralization with One Nation, Two Systems (ONTS); A genuine cultural strategy valuing our diversity.
Healing and Restoration of Wounded/Disappointed Hearts: Official return and state funeral for the remains of Amadou AHIDJO; Support for the families of former presidents and independence heroes (Um Nyobe, Ouandié, Moumié, etc.).
Return of Political Exiles: Organization of voluntary return; Study and adoption of the law on dual nationality.
Amnesty for Political Prisoners: Procedures for the amnesty of political crimes; Immediate integration without prejudice.
